CBAN is an SME support programme, managed by North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce that provides part funding towards business consultancy and development work.

CBAN enables small and medium sized businesses to claim up to 50% funding support against services provided by consultants, up to a maximum repayment of £5,000. The project aims to make quality consultancy support available to a wide range of SMEs, including those who may not be able to pay the usual market rate.



SusTourEx - Sustainable Tourism Excellence

The aim of SusTourEx is to raise the productivity, competitiveness and sustainability of existing local tourism businesses by encouraging and enabling the implementation of best environmental practice, techniques and technologies. SusTourEx is managed by North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and is operating in the Fully Eligible Area (FEA) eligible wards of Lancaster, Preston, West Lancashire and Wyre and the Transitional Area (TA) eligible wards of Chorley, Lancaster, West Lancashire and Wyre.

A further aim of the project is to create local networks of participating local tourism businesses through which the awareness of environmental issues will be raised and support provided to enable members to improve their environmental performance.

Centre for Waste Management

The Centre for Waste Management is designed to encourage entrepreneurial activity and help create conditions for competitiveness and sustainable development by raising the awareness of opportunities that exist in the minimization of waste, re-use and recycling. It also helps eligible SME businesses to become more competitive by minimising waste, reducing costs, increasing profit and improving environmental credentials within their supply chains.

  • Stimulate entrepreneurship in the fields of waste minimisation, re-use and recycling
  • Assist innovation and the development of new and improved products and processes
  • Provide specialist support - e.g. specialist on-line training for SMEs and environmental/waste audits.
  • Provide graduate placements into eligible SMEs.
  • Encourage the exchange of best practice and collective working in developing new products, technologies and marketing strategies.
  • Encourage the transfer into SMEs of R&D results from Universities and other established sources.


Training Bridge

Training Bridge is a bilateral exchange programmed designed to promote lasting UK- German co-operation in the field of work based training. Participating in the programmes is a means to share best business practice while giving trainess and trainers new skills that can be easily applied back in the workplace.   Engineering - Electrical & Mechanical


Lancashire business education partnership

 

Lancashire Education Business Partnership (LEBP) works in partnership with employers, schools, work based learning providers and colleges across Lancashire.  Through this partnership, LEBP connects with young people across the region to create a motivated, prepared and knowledgeable work force of the future.

We have been involved in Enterprise days at schools across the region helping them with activities which will give them a better understanding of what the work industry is about for when they finish school.



The Con-Act Europe

Con-Act Europe is a Leonardo funded project involving Berlin Germany, Northwest of England and Strettin Poland.

The District Department Friedrichshain- Kreuzberg of Berlin has successfully applied by the EU-action program ‘Leonardo da Vinci’. I this context seven officers of six District Departments in Berlin will job shadow in the administration activities in the Northwest of England UK.

 


Reasearch and Development in the New Member States

We have conducted desk and field research on behalf of clients from the UK into EU structural funds in the new member states; 
Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Malta, Slovakia, Slovenia and Cyprus.

The project “CARISMA Car Industry and Sustainability–Making a new Approach” improves the vocational training in the automotive sector through an innovative curriculum. Teachers and trainers in institutions providing vocational training are the target group for the curriculum. The aim of curriculum is to increase awareness and knowledge on usage of renewable and recyclable materials in the production of cars, the recycling of cars and their components, the improvement on environmental protection and occupational safety as well as the legal framework.

This was a Leonardo funded project.
